So in Recent news 22 year-old Guerdwich Montimere was arrested and charged with presenting false identification. The 2007 Dillard High graduate moved to Odessa, Texas in 2009 and enrolled in Nimitz Junior High. He presented a Haitian birth certificate that stated that he was 15 year-old Jerry Joseph. He concocted the story that he was an orphan and living with his half-brother in his college dorm room. Officials received an anonymous email telling his true identity, but officials weren’t entirely sure. While impersonating a sophomore at Permian High, Montimere averaged 20 points a game and was named the district’s newcomer of the year. Montimere finally admitted Tuesday that he was in fact 22 and led Dillard high grad.
The community is absolutely stunned. The basketball coach Danny Wright became his legal guardian and was allowing him to stay in his house. The Odessa American quoted Wright saying
“This affected a lot of people. The whole school of Permian embraced that kid. He deceived us and played on everyone involved’s emotions.”
I seriously hope this dude didn’t take anyone to prom because it could super ugly real fast. And that’s just how I’m feelin…
