Buster of the Week Award

Greetings ladies and gentlemen.  I welcome you all to the 4th ever Buster of the Week Awards Ceremony, where for the first time ever, we have overseas recipients! Without further ado, I present this week’s award to the French National Soccer team. *Applause* The French were shown the exit to this year’s World Cup after an embarrassing defeat at the hands of host team South Africa. French fans not only booed their own team, but then started cheering for South Africa just to spite them. Denverpost.com reported one french fan, 17-year-old Victor Malamoud, saying “It’s funny, France is worthless.” Ouch. Why so much flak for the exit?  Well, the French team not only disappointed citizens with their play on field, but with their off field drama as well.

It all started last Saturday when Nicolas Anelka insulted his coach and was expelled from the team. The team the proceeded to protest the decision by not participating in Sunday’s workouts. Anelka all the while has been criticized for his lack luster play on the field, as well as his distracting antics to off it.  Zinedine Zidane, who is remembered for head butting a player in the 2006 World Cup , weighed in on the matter. He said in a news conference Monday that “They’re being spat upon. Maybe they deserve it,” Geez and I thought France was supposed to be a place of love.

On behalf of the Buster of the Week Awards Committee, I’d like to congratulate you guys again on your accomplishments, or lack there of, and wish yall  luck in 2014. And that’s just how I’m feelin…

The French team assembles instead of working out
