Buster of the Week Award

Welcome to the 2nd ever Buster of the Week ceremony. This week our award goes to an entire organization. It is with great pleasure I present BP Oil Company with this week’s Buster award. *Applause* BP is responsible for the worst oil spill in since the Exxon Valdez accident of 1989, but if you ask them it’s not that bad. BP initially reported they were siphoning nearly 5000 barrels of oil per day and by midnight Thursday that number had dropped to 2,200. Reuters.com had this quote:

“The oil plume escaping from the riser pipe has visibly declined today,” BP spokesman Mark Proegler said after the company announced that a mile-long tube was tapping into the larger of two leaks from the well.”

Scientist dismissed BP’s estimates saying as much as 70,000 barrels per day or more were leaking and live video feed of the leak shows it’s still going quite strong. Oops.  It’s cool BP just didn’t want anyone to panic.

In addition to their top notch damage control, BP is also a very giving company. They offered to share the glory with other companies. They’re too kind.  BP PLC told Congress that the spill was “caused by the failure of a crucial safety device made by another company” whom, we’ll call Company B. Company B then passes the buck to Company C saying they poured the concrete incorrectly. Company C said they were just following orders and did it the way BP told them to.  CNN quoted Massachusetts Democratic Representative Ed Markey (no relation to Biz I’m assuming) as saying

“BP has mismanaged this entire incident from day one. They should not be trusted going forward with the representations that they make. They should not be allowed to make the key decisions and they have to be monitored.”

So on behalf of the dying wildlife and out of work fisherman along the coast, the Buster of the Week committee would like to congratulate you on your achievement BP.

And that’s just how I’m feelin…

Man, this oil spill has gotten soooo out of hand, and it bothers me how certain people keep blaming Obama. And did you know that James Cameron, yes, the director of Titanic and Avatar, has been asked for solutions?? That’s what I heard on the radio today, but it wouldn’t surprise me…I read he’s lending his talents to NASA for something. Anyways, the last picture is gross and makes me sad, but I just have to scroll up to “Massachusetts Democratic Representative Ed Markey (no relation to Biz I’m assuming)” to lmao. Good work!
