They Are Legend


            Well it wasn’t pretty but they did it. The UConn Lady Huskies manage to keep their perfect season intact and pick up another title in the process. The Lady Huskies were uncharacteristically awful in the first half missing 16 straight shots at one point and scoring a record low 12 points in one half. They looked more like the New Jersey Nets on a good day.

            It of course wouldn’t last as the champs came out shooting and hustling. Slowly but surely they regained the lead. Tina Charles came alive in the second half blocking six shots and looking very Grineresque. Maya Moore was the tip at the end of the battle spear leading the charge in the second half and ending with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

            This title makes 78 consecutive wins back-to-back championships and a place in NCAA history right next to the Wizard of Westwood, Mr. John Wooden.  The ladies of Stanford can take a little comfort in knowing they came closer than any other team to beating UConn and if the game had ended in the first half, they’d be champs, but that’s about it. All in all, it was a great game. And that’s just how I’m feelin…
